Ok not to beat a dead horse but we're 8 years old.

I know you probably already knew that, but I couldn't help myself.

And one more special surprise... Here we go.

Comfort Hacks That Cost $0.00

Look, 8 years of running a small business is hard, and there's some of you reading this who have been doing the small business hustle for 2, 3, or 4x longer. You amaze me.

There's other folks reading this who have been working for "the man" for just as, if not, longer. You too, are remarkable.

Here's one truth I've learned: comfort doesn't have to be a luxury earned; it's a mindset.

Sure, soft fabric helps. But the real stuff? It's free.

Here are a few things I've tried recently that oddly worked:

• Breathe through your feet. Weird? Yes. But focusing on the sensations in your feet while breathing deeply helps pull you out of your head and into your body. (It's like a reset button. Give it 60 seconds.)
• Drink your morning beverage outside. I'm like coffee (like 3-4 cups/day), but I'm also a big morning smoothie person, and I've been taking one or the other on my morning walks with my little boys Max and Bernie. Even if it's just standing on your porch or stoop, or balcony.... just grace Mother Nature with your presence. You'll feel better (I think).
• Let something take longer. This one is wild. I try to be soooo "efficient" with my time. All the time. Need to be. But just try rebelling against yourself. Whether it's making your bed or walking the dog, try doing one thing slower than usual. Sometimes comfort comes from letting go of efficiency.
• Name your inner critic something ridiculous. When the voice of judgment pipes up, call it "Corporate Bob" or "Captain Buzzkill." Humor takes its power away. Nothing against Bobs, just the name I came up with.
• Wear the comfy thing. Ok this is not a subtle Swoveralls pitch, promise. I'll admit, even me, the Chief Swoveralls Officer, is guilty of wearing things that are mildly uncomfortable to look better. What a ridiculous concept, right? Even if it's not "outfit of the day" material, where that epic thing you have that makes you super comfy (and thus happy).

Customer Spotlight: Thom Dougherty

Meet Thom Dougherty, an animal lover, farm hero, and the proud owner of multiple pairs of Swoveralls.

When Thom first ordered a pair, he was skeptical of this internet company purporting to sell sweatpant overalls (aren't we all?), but quickly realized: these things are the real deal. No stiff denim. No clunky canvas. Just stretchy, pajama-like bliss...with enough pockets to actually be useful (his words, not mind).

Now he wears them for everything, especially farm chores at DoRe Ranch and Rescue, (pronounced DohRay) the non-profit he runs with his husband Tom (yes, Thom and Tom, dream team energy). Thom loves the freedom of movement, the comfort, and the fact that what we say in our ads actually turns out to be true.

We'd like to think it's mutual love.

Also, Thom would love to see Dog and Cat Print Swoveralls.

Things We Love: DoRe Ranch and Rescue

In Kershaw County, South Carolina, you'll find DoRe Ranch and Rescue, a nonprofit that gives animals a second chance and humans a little more hope.

Founded by Thom Dougherty (who you know well from above) and Tom Regna, DoRe is a passion project rooted in compassion.

They rescue animals from kill shelters, provide care for horses with nowhere else to go, and create a safe, loving space for everyone on the property....two-legged or four.

What I really love about DoRe? It's not just a ranch. It's a place of purpose. And I said it once but I'll say it again, we're honored to have folks like Thom in the Swoveralls community.

One Last VIP

And there's one last VIP I'd like you to meet....

Belle Florence Bergman. Born on 6/27, and Mom and Baby are doing great.

Belle joins here two older brothers as heir apparents to the Swoveralls comfy empire. So far she's been very lethargic and gassy....but we'll let it pass for now (no pun intended).
