What is grid fleece?
Grid fleece is the stuff outdoor people have worn under their shells for years. Flip a pair inside out and you'll see a field of tiny raised squares. Each square holds a thin layer of warm air against you, and the channels between them let air move, so you stay warm without overheating.
New this fall in a limited run, in sizes S to 4XL, $129 a pair. Once they're gone, they're gone.
Up close
Close-ups of both colors, so you can see the grid, the outer face, and the ankle cuff before you buy.

Why grid fleece works
The squares trap heat
The raised grid blocks hold a thin layer of warm air right against you, which is where you want it on a cold morning.
The channels let it breathe
Air moves through the gaps between the squares, so heat and sweat can escape. The fabric moves moisture and dries fast.
Light and stretchy
Made from 94% recycled poly and 6% spandex. It is lighter than it looks and stretches with you, so you get fleece warmth without the sleeping-bag feel.
