3 Comfort Hacks for Busy Lives
By Kyle Bergman, Founder of Swoveralls ·

2016 P.S. (pre-swoveralls), but never not wearing onesies.
The short version
Volume 2 opens with three comfort hacks for busy lives: batch your comfort, build a cozy corner, and go commando. It spotlights customer Eileen Benedict, whose cancer scans came back clear, features a brand crush on Afina, and previews Swoveralls' 2025 plans.
In this issue
- Three comfort hacks for busy lives
- A customer spotlight on Eileen Benedict
- A brand crush on Afina and a look ahead to 2025
One time in high school I remember sitting in class when another student walked in 5 to 10 minutes late.
Upon opening the door and entering the room they said,
I apologize for being late. I have no excuse.
And I still think that is one of the best lines I've ever heard.
With that said, and in regards to this being our first (and last) newsletter of 2024, I apologize for being late. I have no excuse.
Ok let's get comfy. Below you'll find:
- 📝 3 Comfort Hacks for Busy Lives
- 🙌 Customer Spotlight: Eileen Benedict
- ❤️ Brands we love: Afina
But first, a short letter from our editor (me, Kyle):
Hey Comfy Fam,
If you're new here, hi. My name is Kyle, and I specialize in making people more comfortable with themselves, both literally and figuratively.
As Swoveralls ends its 7th year in existence I can't help but feel incredibly humbled about the impact we've had, and hopeful about the comfy noise we'll make in the future.
A wise person once told me, you can't build a community for people, you build a community with people. The same certainly holds true for this little free the waistband movement we have going on here. So thank you. Thank you for reading. Thank you for reaching out. And thank you for continuing to spread the comfy love.
Now let's get to it.
3 Comfort Hacks for Busy Lives 🏎️

live look at me writing this email
Every month, we'll share some sort of comfort hack. In our first newsletter we talked about organizing your calendar or to-do list. Since then we've talked about how breathing (specifically box breathing) can make you more comfortable, and we've also done a little piece on FOOD.
Now? We talk about staying comfy while staying BUSY.
Hack #1: Batch your comfort
Maybe you're familiar with this concept of batching similar tasks or work so you're more efficient. Take that concept and apply it to your wardrobe in 2 ways:
1. Designate specific days as comfy clothes days where you just wear all of your softest things.
2. Or just throw out all of your crappy uncomfortable clothes and comfort batch the rest of your life. We're not laughing.
Hack #2: Create a cozy corner
Remember that bean bag or soft rug or whatever you had when you were a kid? Let this be your sign to bring it back. As a new parent, I see my kids with their blankys and I'd be lying if I said I hadn't day dreamed about having one of my own.
Look, I know you need the office chair, but can you also have a bean bag chair covered in ultra soft yak fur? You deserve it, assuming Yak is soft (not sure). Buying something is ugh, so you can also just throw a bunch of your sweats (or swoveralls) in a corner and lay on it. It's a start.
Hack #3: Commando
Not for everyone, but then again, neither are Swoveralls? Let your body breathe baby.
⭐ Customer Spotlight: Eileen Benedict (Head Comfort Coach)

Eileen rocking the limited edition Crimson 🙌
Where I begin? If there's one thing you take away from this newsletter, let it be this: Eileen is incredible, and the world needs more Eileens in it.
Eileen first found out about Swoveralls through her son, Patrick (see below with Mom) who has been an amazing ambassador of Swoveralls with his family for a few years now. Eileen is one of the few humans out in the world that probably has more Swoveralls than me, and she loves to share her outfit of the day (OOTD) with all of our members in our comfort club facebook group pretty much on the weekly.
Recently, Eileen was battling cancer, and has been so brave and such an inspiration for all of us in the group as she chronicles her journey via selfies to and from her appointments.
EVEN MORE RECENTLY, all of Eileen's scans came back CLEAR, and she is cancer free at the time of this newsletter. Heck yea Eileen.
Quite simply, Eileen is a badass, and we're so lucky to have her as a part of our comfy fam.
Thank you Eileen. ❤️

❤️ Brand Crush: Afina
Every newsletter I'll feature a brand I personally love, and most likely have some sort of relationship with. These aren't paid ads, just wholesome recommendations for things I currently use, and that you might find helpful.
In this edition, I want to talk about Afina, which is a sleek shower head filter with incredible water pressure. Like many, I was ignorant about how dirty our shower water actually is. My friend Justin (co-founder at Afina), told me when he discovered nearly 50% of tap water in the US is contaminated with forever chemicals he decided to do something about it (enter: Afina). Think about it this way: you probably understand the value of sunscreen and how it protects your skin from harmful UV rays. Well what about our skin from harmful chemicals and pollutants in our shower water? I love the Afina shower head because it's like water-SPF (my own term). Not to mention, the water pressure this thing produces is incredible. Check it out, and thanks Justin for making a product the world needs.
👶👶 Twin Update
ICYMI, last year my wife and I welcomed our twin boys, Max and Bernie. This month they turn 14 months old, and Max's first word was WOW. Bernie's first word is OHHH. I'm not sure if those count, but we'll take em. Checkout Swoveralls' two laziest employees below.

🔮 Looking ahead
I try not to be hyperbolic, but I think 2025 will be our best year yet. We're planning to bring back the Dino Swoveralls in January/February timeframe, and then have a TON of options we need to sort through to see what makes sense for the rest of the year. Next Fall/Winter you'll most likely see Teddy Fleece, Corduroy, and VELOUR again, but in what colors and designs? Not sure, and we're always open to feedback. In fact, early in January we'll be sending a survey out to y'all to get a pulse check on what we should make this coming year.
PS: Have any comfort recommendations you'd like to share? Feel free to reply here and let me know. I'd be happy to include it in a future newsletter and of course give ya a shoutout.
PSS: Love this newsletter? Can't stand it? Reply here and let me know and I'll personally get back to you.
