Swoveralls vs. Duluth Trading Souped-Up Sweats Overalls

By Swoveralls. Facts checked October 3, 2026.

Duluth Trading's Women's Souped-Up Sweats with Storm Cotton Overalls are fleece overalls with a water-repellent finish, a drawstring waist, and seven pockets, sold in women's XS to XXL at a list price of $84.95. Swoveralls are unisex sweatpant overalls with no waistband, six pockets (one of them a hidden zip pocket inside the bib), and core colors in XS to 4XL for $99. For drizzly yard work, buy the Duluth pair; for lounging, travel, and a wider size range, Swoveralls are the better fit.

We make Swoveralls, so you already know whose side we're on. To keep this fair, every Duluth detail below comes from Duluth's own product page as it read on October 3, 2026, and we've marked the places where their overalls are the better buy.

Fabric: weatherproofed fleece or stretchy sweatpant fabric

This is the biggest difference between the two, and it decides most purchases.

Duluth builds its overalls from what it calls Souped-Up Sweats fleece: a 10.3-ounce, 80% cotton and 20% polyester fabric sold under the Storm Cotton name. Duluth says the water-repellent finish is built right into the fabric, and it pitches the overalls for projects, outdoor adventures, and keeping your legs dry on drizzly days. If you plan to kneel in a damp garden bed or walk the dog in a light rain, that finish counts, and Swoveralls make no comparable claim.

Most Swoveralls are made with 95% GOTS-certified organic cotton and 5% spandex. That isn't every style. Corduroy, Teddy Fleece, Grid Fleece, Thick Fleece, and French Terry versions use their own blends, and a few colors from older production runs still list a different blend, so check the fabric line on the product page for the exact pair you want. The spandex gives the fabric stretch, which matters in a garment you sit, squat, and nap in.

One honest gap: Duluth publishes a fabric weight and we currently don't. That means you can't compare the two on ounces, and we're not going to pretend you can.

The waistband question

Swoveralls have no waistband. The adjustable straps hold everything up, and nothing presses into your middle when you sit down after a large lunch. Our tagline is "Free the Waistband," and the product is built around that idea. There's also a zipper fly, so a bathroom trip doesn't mean unbuckling the straps.

Duluth's overalls take a different approach: adjustable bib straps plus a drawstring waist, so you can cinch the middle. Some people want that. If you like a defined waist and still want a sweatpant-style one-piece from us, our Comfyalls are sweatpant coveralls with an adjustable waistband, an elastic toggle, and a full-body YKK zipper, starting at $149.

Pockets

Duluth lists seven total pockets and describes them as tons of pockets to stuff with everything you need. The product page doesn't break down where they sit.

Swoveralls have six: deep front bib and side pockets, plus a hidden zip pocket inside the bib. That zip pocket is where a phone or a key goes when you don't want to think about it falling out on the couch. On pocket count alone, Duluth wins by one.

Sizing and fit

The Duluth overalls sit in Duluth's women's section and run XS to XXL. We didn't find a men's version of the overall on Duluth's site when we checked.

Swoveralls use unisex sizing. Core colors like Navy run XS to 4XL, and most print styles run S to 4XL, so not every style comes in every size. Our fit guide walks through measurements, and the straps are adjustable. If you're shopping for someone who wears men's sizes, someone above an XXL, or a couple who wants matching pairs, Swoveralls cover more of that range.

Price, shipping, and returns

Duluth lists the overalls at $84.95. On October 3, 2026, the page was showing $67.96 with a sale applied, and some colors were marked lower still. Duluth's page says orders of $99 and up ship free.

Core Swoveralls are $99, and print styles are $120. We offer free US shipping on qualifying orders. Most products have a 365-day return and exchange window, and size or color exchanges are free (one exchange request per item per order). Markdown, sale, and Mystery Swoveralls items are final sale. Full details are on our FAQ page.

On price, Duluth is the cheaper pair at list, and cheaper still during a sale.

Which one should you buy?

Buy the Duluth Souped-Up Sweats Overalls if you:

  • want a water-repellent finish for outdoor chores or damp weather
  • prefer a drawstring you can cinch at the waist
  • wear women's XS to XXL and want the lower list price
  • care most about pocket count (seven beats six)

Buy Swoveralls if you:

  • want no waistband at all
  • need unisex sizing or sizes up to 4XL
  • want a zipper fly and a zip pocket for your phone
  • like prints, or want a long return window while you figure out your size

We're biased, obviously. We'd still rather you buy the right pair than the wrong pair from us. Browse every style in the full Swoveralls collection.
